The Buckingham Club, originally formed in 2012 in Chicago, gathers every summer for an opportunity to network and socialize with local Badgers while supporting important causes at UW–Madison. The net revenue and proceeds from Buckingham Club event registrations, donations, and event sponsorship is split between the UW athletic department and another campus philanthropic cause.

What causes are supported?

In 2025, the featured causes are:

  • the UW Initiative to End Alzheimer’s Research Fund, advancing critical research that will help UW–Madison and its network of collaborators to end this devastating disease, and
  • the Badger Fund, supporting UW athletics.

The 2025 Cocktail Party

This year, the Buckingham Club of Chicago’s Cocktail Party was held on July 17 at 28 Mile Distilling Company. A total of 163 local Badgers registered to reconnect with the university and each other. Together, we raised nearly $70,000.

Featured speakers included:

  • Sanjay Asthana — director of the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center
  • Chris McIntosh ’04, MS’19 — athletic director at UW–Madison
  • Kelly Sheffield — head volleyball coach at UW–Madison
  • Alisa Robertson ’94, MBA’03 — president and CEO of the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association
