Rusching Forward with Main Street Business

Clint Rusch ’05 recently acquired Cabinetry & Millwork Concepts, Inc., a 30-year-old Topeka-based architectural millwork and casework firm. After growing up in an entrepreneurial household, Clint spent nearly a decade in the U.S. Army, serving as an enlisted man and officer, and seeing firsthand the power of business ownership during his time in Iraq. His post-military career included time in locations ranging from Dubai to the Arctic, but his commitment to Main Street businesses never wavered. After growing NorthPoint Logistics to back-to-back spots on the Inc 5000 in 2022 and 2023, Clint spent a year-plus searching for the right business to acquire and operate before finding Cabinetry & Millwork Concepts.
The Heartland’s preeminent provider of commercial casework and architectural millwork, CMC has built casework and millwork featured in churches, schools, restaurants, banks, country clubs, military bases, professional sports offices, courtrooms, and prisons.
“We’re thrilled to have Clint as the new owner of Cabinetry & Millwork Concepts,” said Mark Coleman, one of the company’s founding partners, and a remaining partner in the business, “and I couldn’t be more excited to put the company in his capable hands. Our best days are ahead of us, and I’m delighted to be Clint’s partner on the next steps of our journey.”
Employing 15 talented craftsmen, Cabinetry & Millwork Concepts has been committed to the city of Topeka for three decades, giving back to the community by serving as an adviser to the Washburn Institute of Technology’s cabinetmaking program.
“I’m proud to get to play any part in a Main Street business like CMC,” said Clint, “and to get to lead such an amazing team is really a dream come true.”
