Helen Rottier ’18 Earns PhD, Pours into UW–Madison Disability Community

Helen Rottier ’18, graduated on May 10, 2025, with a PhD in disability studies from the University of Illinois–Chicago. Her dissertation focuses on supporting college students with disabilities — something she has continued in her current role as the program coordinator in the new Disability Cultural Center (DCC) at UW–Madison. She has been leading the DCC since May 2023, hosting dozens of events, collaborating on the 2024–25 Go Big Read programming, and organizing weekly Crafternoons in the DCC student lounge.
