Dr. Camille Bernier, Senior Advisor, Returns to UW–Madison

Three years ago, Camille Bernier MA’00, PhD’10 transitioned from a 20-year career at UW–Madison to advise students in the Technology and Trades tracks at Madison College. Dr. Bernier is delighted to again return to campus and is currently advising students in the School of Education. Dr. Bernier is a citizen of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe, with academic interests in the intersectionality of race, equity, and indigenous rights. Her master’s and doctoral research employed community-based and action research methods to focus on the ways self determination, cultural survivance, and justice are enacted in Ojibwe communities, through oral histories, traditions, and teachings. Dr. Bernier is a person-centered, trusted support system for UW–Madison students. She cares deeply about higher education and student affairs and the people who learn and work at our great university.
