Barry Perlman Publishes Memoir

After graduating from the UW, Barry Perlman ’67 went on to Yale Medical School and a career in psychiatry, during which he was the director of the Department of Psychiatry at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers, New York. He served as president of the New York State Psychiatric Association and was appointed chair of the New York State Mental Health Services Council by Gov. George Pataki. His memoir, Rearview: A Psychiatrist Reflects on Practice and Advocacy in a Tie of Healthcare System Change, was published during in the spring of 2021.
