I remember a junior honor society called the Society of the Mace. What is the history of that group and does it still exist?

Mace was an honorary fraternity founded at UW-Madison in 1950. The organization for junior-year male students was sponsored by the Wisconsin Men’s Association, a branch of the Wisconsin Student Association that represented “the voice of men on campus.” Mace created a forum for discussion between male student leaders and members of the UW faculty. The group remained active on campus until 1987, when it presumably disbanded.

UW-Madison needs your help to protect life-changing federally funded research. Take action today.
