WAA members are among the most loyal alumni and friends of the University of Wisconsin–Madison. You live out the Wisconsin Idea every day by bringing Badger pride and the “beneficent influence of the university” everywhere you go, and in a time when higher education and the importance of the UW are in question, your voice is more important than ever. You can show that support by advocating on the UW’s behalf. Here are five simple ways to help ensure the future of the UW for generations of Badgers to come.
- Join the Advocacy Coalition and receive the Informed Insider,a newsletter that helps you learn more about how public policy affects UW–Madison and higher education across our nation.
- Voice your support for the Universities of Wisconsin budget requests. Tell Governor Tony Evers ’73, MS’76, PhD’86 and the Wisconsin legislature how important the state university system is.
- Share your Badger pride in our nation’s capital on April 9, 2025, during UW–Madison Day in Washington, DC.
- Join fellow Badger advocates in Madison on April 30, 2025, for UW–Madison Day at the State Capitol.
- Write to or call your elected officials in both the state and federal legislatures. Even if you can’t join us in person for advocacy days, you can still share your love of the UW and its importance to the state of Wisconsin, the nation, and the world.
