Game Watch Food Drive
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the Big Apple Badgers are hosting a food drive! The collection is taking place through November 18. All donations will go directly to the Gotham Food Pantry and the University Community Social Services Food Distribution Center (both of which are near our official Wisconsin sports bars: The Grayson and Dorrian's). Donations can be dropped off at either bar OR by emailing our chapter board member Arianna Dinelli to schedule a pickup. We are looking forward to giving back to our beloved community this season!
Welcome to the City!
Calling all new Big Apple Badgers! Join us on December 5 at 6 p.m. at The Grayson for our Welcome to the City event. The night will be filled with meeting new people, sharing our favorite UW memories, and of course, cheering on the UW men's basketball team as they play Michigan State.
Badger Bars
The Big Apple Badgers chapter is proud to have not one but TWO awesome NYC bars to host important alumni gatherings, including game-watch events! Put on all of your finest cardinal and white and come meet us at The Grayson (our Lower East Side destination) or Dorrian’s (our Uptown venue).
Both Badger bars will play your favorite UW game-time songs — including “Varsity,” of course — and offer Wisconsin food and drink specials. And don’t forget that by patronizing our official NYC Badger bars for game watches and Game Day specials, you are giving back and supporting our amazing WEASF scholarship program!
Meaningful Connections
Have you ever sat next to someone on a plane for hours, only to realize as you’re deplaning that you’re both Badgers? Badgers are all around us, and we want to celebrate the special connection that we all have. Please share your stories of unique Badger connections for a chance to be featured in an upcoming newsletter.
Wisconsin Eastern Alumni Scholarship Fund
The Wisconsin Eastern Alumni Scholarship Fund (WEASF) was established more than 50 years ago. True to its roots, the WEASF remains committed to bringing the Wisconsin Experience to talented yet underrepresented students from New York City. This critical scholarship supports a diverse exchange of backgrounds and ideas, and we’re so proud of the difference it has made and continues to make in the lives of alumni and both current and future students.
