What Comes after the Wildfires?

The devastating wildfires in southern California have taken lives, ravaged property, and raised a host of questions about the future of the region. What do we know about the underlying causes and spread of these fires? What policy interventions can reduce the likelihood or mitigate the impacts of wildfires? And how will the California wildfires change the insurance environment?

Join fellow UW alumni and friends online for a livestream and Q & A with experts who will discuss these topics. The talk will be moderated by Mike Knetter, strategic adviser for investments and business development at the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association.

This disaster hits close to home for many Badgers: the UW has more than 6,000 alumni in the Los Angeles area and more than 27,000 in California. If you’d like to support local groups that are helping those in the LA region, we’ve compiled a list of them in posts on Facebook and Instagram.
