Russell S. Kirby ’74, MS’77, PhD’81, MS’91 Recognized for Research and Mentoring

I received two awards recently. First, in August I received the mentoring award from the National Birth Defects Prevention Network, and it was announced that the award will be called the Russell S. Kirby Mentoring Award. Here’s a URL to my college weekly news, where the details are provided.

And second, I was awarded the USF Outstanding Faculty Research Award last week. This link provides more information.

The theme for both is the same: working with students, junior faculty, and other colleagues to develop and publish collaborative research.

For background, I have four degrees from the UW: BA (honors) 1974, MS 1977, PhD 1981, MS 1991.
