Robert F. Fergen (1929–2025)

Robert “Bob” Fred Fergen ’51 was born on April 4, 1929, in Chicago, Ill., to Fred P. Fergen and Bernice Zapp. Bob passed on July 28, 2025, at home in La Mesa, CA. due to health complications of Alzheimer’s and age.
Bob grew up on a farm in Cameron, WI. He graduated from Cameron High School in 1947. He went on to earn a BS in building technology from the University of Wisconsin in 1951. He migrated to San Diego in the mid-1950s. He lived in La Mesa, CA, for 63 years until his passing. He worked as a building contractor until his retirement. Those who worked with Bob knew him for his passion for building and keen interest in advanced designs and construction concepts. He enjoyed making custom toys and crafts for his grandchildren.
