Judge James E. Shapiro of Fox Point, Wisconsin passed away February 5, 2021, at age 90. Beloved husband of Rhea Shapiro (nee Kahn), loving father of Jeffrey and Steve (Sheryl) Shapiro, and proud grandfather of Jack Shapiro, he is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Judge Shapiro (also known as Jimmy) graduated from Washington High School, the University of Wisconsin, and Harvard Law School. He served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jimmy became Judge Jimmy in 1982 after being appointed to the Federal Bankruptcy Court, where he proudly served for 30 years.
He loved to play tennis and piano and to sing to his dogs. He will be missed by all.
Funeral services were held via Zoom on February 9, 2021, at 11 a.m., with burial at Spring Hill Cemetery in Milwaukee.
