Briana Boehmer Brings Food Solutions to Madison

Briana Boehmer ’02, cofounder of Goodie Bag, is excited to announce the company’s expansion into Madison on October 31. Goodie Bag is an impact-driven platform that connects local shops and restaurants with customers to offer affordable “goodie bags” of surplus food, effectively reducing food waste and making quality food accessible to the community. Launched in early 2023, Goodie Bag quickly gained traction in Colorado, now partnering with more than 225 shops and preventing more than 50,000 goodie bags from going to waste, while providing discounted food to thousands of households.

By bringing this sustainable solution to Madison, Goodie Bag builds on its success as a rapidly growing start-up making a significant impact on local food systems. The platform’s expansion into new markets underscores its mission of creating accessible, sustainable food options for everyone. With Briana’s roots in the UW–Madison community, Goodie Bag is proud to share its innovative approach with the city and its businesses, aiming to make Madison a leading example of affordable and sustainable food practices.
