Florence Ledwitz Rigby (1946–2024)

Florence Ledwitz Rigby PhD’72 passed away in November 2024 following surgery. Florence was born on February 14, 1946, in New York City. She attended the Bronx High School of Science, and went on to receive her BS in biological science from CUNY, her MS in biology from Case-Western Reserve University, and her PhD in endocrinology—reproductive physiology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. In the course of her career she taught, researched, and held leadership positions at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Northern Illinois University, the University of British Columbia, the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, and Life University in Marietta, Georgia, where she served as the head of Life Sciences until retirement.
