Dr. Tim Cordes Appointed UHS Associate Director of Psychiatry

Tim Cordes MD’04, PhD’07, a board certified general and addiction psychiatrist has been appointed associate director of psychiatry at University Health Services (UHS), UW–Madison. Dr. Cordes has been with UHS since 2018. He is a clinical associate professor with the UW–Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. In his new role, Dr. Cordes will oversee a psychiatry team of eight providers, nurses, and nurse practitioners. The psychiatry clinical service saw more than 4,300 patient visits during the 2020–21 academic year. “Dr. Cordes is a skilled clinician who has provided exemplary care to students in his time at UHS. I’m thrilled he is taking on this new role and look forward to watching the UHS psychiatry program continue to advance in our service to students,” says Dr. Aruna Josyula, UHS medical director. Dr. Cordes completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at the University of Notre Dame. He went on to earn his MD and PhD from the UW–Madison School of Medicine and Public Health.
