Dean Simon ’83 Elected to the Kimberly High School Athletic Hall of Fame

Dean Simon ’83 of Keshena, WI, has been elected to the Kimberly High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his career as Kimberly girls basketball coach from 1983 to 1996. Simon finished his varsity coaching career with a record of 187–39 with six conference championships, three state appearances, and two state championships(1989 and 1996). Simon was WBCA State Girls Coach of the Year in 1996. He retired in 2023 after 40 years of teaching chemistry at Kimberly. During that time he received a Herb Kohl Award and an Excellence in Teaching Award from the Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers. After a year of substitute teaching, he became the Wisconsin state account executive for ACT. Wisconsin currently uses the ACT test as its state “report card” test.
