History of the “Blast”
Considered one of the biggest Badger tailgates held outside of Madison, and originally known as Pohle’s Badger Blast, this beloved celebration has been going strong for more than 50 years! Started in 1971, it includes the best of Wisconsin’s tailgating traditions and brings the excitement of Camp Randall to the heart of Gopher Country. More importantly, this spirited tailgate raises valuable funds for the Paul and Jean Pohle Memorial Scholarship — giving deserving students from Minnesota a chance to earn a UW–Madison degree.
