The Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) has more than 100 alumni chapters throughout the United States and around the world. Many chapters have active scholarship programs and award scholarships to local students attending UW-Madison. Since 1967, chapter scholarship programs have collectively awarded more than $10 million to nearly 5,000 deserving UW–Madison students.
No application is required. All students accepted to UW-Madison who are from a designated chapter region are eligible for consideration if they match the specific criteria indicated by the local alumni chapter. Each chapter determines their own award criteria and whether the award is one-time or recurring.
Students will be notified they are a recipient of a scholarship provided by a WAA chapter by receiving an award notification email from the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub (WiSH). After receiving the award notification, students will be able to see their scholarship as part of their financial aid offer in their MyUW Student Center .
In order to receive these scholarship award funds, recipients must first accept their award and then complete the required post-acceptance materials found in WiSH by the required deadline. Scholarship award funds will be applied directly to a student’s tuition bill.
