- Sep. 27, 2024
The Wisconsin Idea goes abroad. Andrew Abrams ’94, artistic director of Capital City Theatre, a professional regional theater in Madison, WI, wrote the music for But I’m a Cheerleader, the Musical based on the movie of the same name. It had a successful run in London in 2022 and won the What’s-on-Stage Best Off-West End Production Award that year. He wrote Shining in Misery, a comic musical parody of Stephen King novels, which opened for the World Premiere Wisconsin festival in 2023. A concert version also played at 54 Below in NYC in May 2024. Andrew wrote the music for a new version of It’s a Wonderful Life, which will premiere in Madison in November 2024.
