Michael Vickerman, RENEW Wisconsin’s First Executive Director, Retires

After 33 years with RENEW Wisconsin, advocating for renewable energy across the state, Michael Vickerman ’78 of Madison has retired. The organization’s first hire, Vickerman became RENEW’s executive director in 1994. Under his leadership RENEW developed policies and programs that enabled Wisconsin’s renewable energy industry to flourish. Once thought impractical and expensive, solar-generated electricity has grown exponentially in the last five years, powering thousands of individual homes and businesses in addition to Wisconsin utilities.
