12 Places to Work Remotely in Madison

Say you're in Madison and need to get some work done. Where are you hunkering down? We asked Badgers to share their favorite places to work remotely in Madison and here are some places they suggested! We broke it down into four areas near campus.

East Side

Grab your beanie or Chacos. The East Side beckons to the art community, small business-loving shoppers, and those who like to be near downtown but still hear the crickets chirp. If you're craving a quiet, eclectic place to work and sip on a matcha latte, the East Side is for you!

Forward Craft & Coffee

2166 Atwood Avenue, Madison, WI 53704

Rotunda Cafe

1965 Atwood Avenue #5220, Madison, WI 53704

Northstreet

557 North Street Madison, WI

Capitol Area

You're bound to be among business professionals if you're hunkering down at these coffee shops. You can't go wrong with classic Colectevo. Wonderstate is a wonderfully simple spot with large windows to take in the Capitol, and if you grab a chair (or couch) at Michelangelo's you're sure to be surrounded by locals who want to be just off the beaten path (the Capitol Square that is).

Colectivo On the Square

25 S. Pinckney Street, Madison, WI 53703

Wonderstate Coffee

27 W. Main Street, Madison, WI 53703

Michelangelo's Coffee House

114 State Street, Madison, WI 53703

South of Campus

Grab your helmet and bike to any of these coffee shops! The neighborhood is home to the old and new alike — if you venture just south of campus, you'll find some quaint and unique spots. These three each boast their own aesthetic and are great for getting some solo work done or meeting up with others.

Leopold's

1301 Regent Street, Madison, WI 53715

Indie Coffee

1225 Regent Street, Madison, WI 53715

Lakeside Street Coffee House

402 W. Lakeside Street, Madison, WI 53715

Campus Area

U knoW it and love it. In the heart of campus, you'll mostly see students, faculty, and Madison locals. These spots are free to the public but will give you the biggest chance of opening your laptop next to a student studying. If the museum aesthetic and campus community vibes are your cup of tea, these are for you!
