Alumni Café Learning Series: Great Lakes

UW alumni and friends in Green Bay attended a learning series devoted to discovery and discussion.

UW alumni and friends learned more about “The State of the Bay” with outreach specialist in water quality and habitat restoration Victoria Harris of the UW Sea Grant Institute. Harris presented an environmental report card on the health of Green Bay’s ecosystem. She also talked about her involvement in a new program to reduce nutrient and sediment loading to the lower Fox Valley and Green Bay in an effort to lessen algae blooms and improve water clarity and quality.

06:02 PM		Please continue these sessions. We always walk away with a couple points we can take home and use. I think this session begs for a closer look at agricultural and municipal run-off. It changed my attitude on what I can do with my little piece of property. Maybe my "four bags a season" and a spreader approach is not the best.
